About us

Rooted was built on a simple idea, that what you wear should mean something.

It shouldn't just look good, but it should feel good to wear. Like it was made with care by someone who actually gives a damn about what they're putting out into the world.

We started in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, which is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in England. Getting out into all of the natural beauty it has to offer, walking through it, sitting in it, has had a genuine impact on how we see things. It slows everything down. It grounds you. That feeling is what this brand is built around.

The clothing;

Every piece starts with finding the right material. We use 100% organic, combed, ring spun cotton. It isn't the cheapest option, we know that. But it is the right one. To confidently be able to say you are wearing something that has had minimal impact on the natural world is a fantastic feeling.

All of our designs are either printed using DTG printing, or embroidered directly onto the garment itself, making whatever design you go for last as long as you take care of it. 

We release in small drops. Nothing is ever mass produced, or ever sitting in a warehouse. When the drop closes, that's it. The pieces are made, checked, hand packed one by one and sent out with a handwritten thankyou note, a care card, a coated paper Rooted sticker and a packet of wildflower seeds. Because the unboxing should feel as considered as the garment inside it.

The conservation;

Nature isn't just the inspiration behind Rooted, it's the reason it exists. Spending time outdoors has had a huge impact on my life. Better headspace. More clarity. A genuine sense of perspective that's hard to find anywhere else.

So it felt important to me to build something into the brand that gives back to the natural world that inspired it in the first place. That's why 1% of every Rooted sale goes directly to the Woodland Trust, the UK's largest woodland conservation charity. They plant trees, protect ancient woodland, and fight for the wild spaces that make this country worth living in.

After every drop we publish exactly how much was donated. Not a vague "a percentage goes to charity." A real number, confirmed with a receipt, shared publicly. You deserve to know where your money goes.
