Rooted exists because of nature. The name, the colours, the whole reason this brand was worth building, it all comes from time spent outside. Walking through woodland. Camping out in the wilderness. Finding that the natural world has a way of making everything feel clearer and more grounded than almost anything else.
So building a brand inspired by nature without giving something back felt wrong. That's why conservation isn't an afterthought at Rooted. It's part of the foundation.
1% of every Rooted sale goes directly to the Woodland Trust.
The Woodland Trust is the UK's largest woodland conservation charity. They plant trees, protect ancient woodland, restore wild habitats, and campaign for the natural spaces that make this country worth exploring. Real work, done by people who genuinely care, and have done for over 50 years.
We chose them specifically because they operate close to home, right here in Shropshire, protecting the kind of ancient woodland and wild landscapes that inspired Rooted in the first place.

Why 1% of revenue and not profit?
Because revenue is a more honest number. Profit can shrink with costs. Revenue is what actually comes in from every sale. It means the donation is real and consistent regardless of what the business is spending. You deserve to know that.

The bigger picture.
The UK has lost over 50% of its ancient woodland since the 1930s. We have some of the lowest woodland cover in Europe at around 13%. These aren't random statistics, they represent real places, real ecosystems, and real losses that can't be easily undone.
The Woodland Trust planted over a million trees last year alone. They protect more than 1,000 sites across the UK covering over 28,000 hectares of woodland. Every donation, including ours, contributes directly to that work.
When you buy from Rooted, you're not just buying a tee. You're part of something that's actively trying to give something back. That matters to us. We hope it matters to you too.
Our commitments.
Organic cotton. Every Rooted garment is made from GOTS certified 100% organic ring-spun combed cotton that has been grown without harmful pesticides. Meaning its better for the soil, and better for the people farming it.
Fair Wear certified supply chain. Stanley/Stella are Fair Wear Foundation members, meaning the people who make our garments are treated and paid fairly. That matters as much to us as the environmental side.
Plastic free packaging. Every order ships in a kraft paper mailer with tissue paper, a care card, a sticker, a wildflower seed packet and a nature fact card. No unnecessary plastic. No styrofoam. Nothing that ends up in a landfill if we can help it.
Small drops, no overproduction. We never make more than we sell. Every piece is a pre-order, made after the drop closes. No leftover stock, no waste, no cutting corners to shift units.
